Biped basics

biped thinking

Bipeds are a premade bone structure that can be added into scenes like the create object tool. They have built in constraints of both FK IK and pre set hierarchy exactly like a biped’s bone structure. For example when a person extends their hand and then brings it back in a straight line the elbow will bend to accommodate the hand.

This is a very useful tool allowing the bones to affect one another like they would in real life. Having a readily available bone structure to rig to allows quick and easy animation of bipedal meshes. The biped can be altered through the structure tool in it’s individual menu letting the biped be ‘adapted’ to any biped with little hassle keeping the constraints and hierarchy.
