Robot arm

With this animation we used our own constraints for the first time this was a simple look at constraint between two cylinders and two small cubes on the model.

The two cylinders connecting the base arm to the mid arm on the mesh are linked to the cube at it’s base but given a look at constraints so the cylinders rotation will be constantly updated to make sure the cylinders are ‘looking’ at the opposite cube. In this case it was used to create the illusion of a piston system on the arm without too much complicated animation, allowing the arm to rotate and move as much as it needs without having to individually key the cylinder’s movements.
